I am trying to use the new BW 7.3 (EHP1, SP7) option of setting the WebTemplate parameter EXPORT_LAYOUT.

I have followed the instructions of activating the Export Libraray for BEx.

The simple thing I am trying to achieve is to create a PDF where I have 4 web items displayed in two rows where the first one displays

3 (info items) next to each other and the second row the fourth item spanning over 3 columns.

[Application help] documentation is poor, because it is not quite clear

- how web items (container layout items) should be placed in the original web template or in the web template used in the PDF export

- fow ewhich of the 2 web templates the parameter must be set

- if the export is then referring to a web template at all or must use a different data binding.

I have been trying various options to understand the way the new feature works, none of them successful, although when executing

the print web template directly it looks exactly the way I want ...

Has anyone used this feature successfully?

Would you confirm that using the new BO BI 4.1 with Design Studio is  preferable than Bi 4.0 (Sp 7 Patch 1) ?

- Looks at least better integrated into BOBI server infrastructure ;-)

I'm using BI 4.0 SP1 and just customised the colour palette by changing VisualizationConfig.template.xml.

The new palette works fine with new WebI reports or new charts within old reports but doesn't come up in the palette list for old charts.

I restarted tomcat after changing the VisualizationConfig.template.xml file. Is there anything I can do to refresh the palette?

        The problem is with displaying page number in crystal report... I can see blank space between the detail section and page footer(where i placed the field which displays page number) in my report. i want this page number to be printed immediate after the detail section in every page without leaving empty space in between. please suggest how can i get out of this....

We all at some point of time in our life would have been obsessed with the Automobiles and its various brands. Especially in the childhood i remember counting the automobile brands crossing and especially played the game of guessing the brands as well. So with SAP Lumira and Data geek challenge, i take this opportunity to analyse the sales trend of Autombiles in India for August 2013.

Which brand is the big player in the market, which car makes impact in the market, comparison of last 6 months numbers and what not. With the help of SAP Lumira i have analysed the trending brands and favourite brand of the Indian automobile industry. Data Source: http://www.team-bhp.com/

So experiencing the magic of SAP Lumira is the foremost focus for me particularly to analyse the data. Without results from data, data is not held at its highest regard. Let us get into the stages of analysis in this context.

Column charts feature in SAP Lumira lets us know top 3 best seller spots are stormed by Alto, Swift and Dzire from Maruti stable. And also new comer Ford Ecosport is making a wave with considerable numbers.

When we compare last 6 months sales, it looks brighter as always for Maruti.

When we take a look at the August sales of Automobiles, we see an interesting trend which is emerging. As usual Maruti tops the list because of its mightier presence, a quick look at other spots reveal an interesting fact. Ford emerges closer to Hyundai and Honda after Maruti by picking up its ace sale with Figo and Ecosport as well. We know the strong contenders like Mahindra, Tata, Toyota etc. Biggest gainer in these recent months and especially in August to me is undoubtedly Ford with its storming entry of Ford Ecosport.

Split by last 6 months by Make provides us a insight of who is actually sensing the correct trend with correct release of vehicles. Automobile market is slightly having a negative trend but also with the release of new SUVs n hot hatches market is again getting hotter.

Very important trend that we get to see in the last 6 months is that even though Maruti's numbers are pretty high, it has seen a dip because of the vehicles storming into the scene such as Duster, Ecosport etc. With the next line chart we can clearly see that Maruti had overwhelming numbers in the market by the month of March but since then the numbers are declining but not definitely near alarming state but again 30,000 + numbers difference is still big. Large chunk given to other market competitors.

Until now we have been checking on the statistics based on Make and Models but now lets have an interesting study on the segment of the cars which were sold in August. Hatches of course rule the category but when compared with April month we can witness a trend of increasing SUVs for the known reason. But ofcourse the numbers cannot be compared with the Sedans and Hatches that are sold in India

Here we can see an increase of close to 2% in sales of SUV in the last 3 months. It is not that significant a raise but yet giving an early indication of Indian market opening up to SUV in the recent months.

Tag clouds and the tree map clearly depicts the winner and loser with precision here. While Marutis, Tatas, Mahindras, Hyundais are regular flag bearers, Renault and ford are also heading the scene these days.

After all these numbers, we can definitely come to know of a simple fact that the Automobile sales are definitely in downtrend, but the competitors who are going to stay in the hunt will be who try to flourish in these tough times. Following Radar charts are best left to be seen on how the trend is.

After all these numbers and analysis i was astonished with my experience with SAP Lumira. I hope it was the same with all those who had tried it. Finally leaving an image of which brand is the king in Indian Automobile scene.

This analysis i feel will give a perspective of the Automobile scene in India to an extent with numbers for the buyers and i thoroughly enjoyed this as a part of a submission to Data Geek challenge. When given more data, i think analysts can get a huge advantage in terms of prediction and the research down the pipeline.

The purpose of this blog post is to show how you can analyze and overcome such a problem.

During condition maintenance a syntax error occurs in the corresponding condition info report, that leads to the problem that the report can not be generated.

Some affected reports: RV13ANAA, RV13ANAB, RV13ANAC, RV13ANAD, RV13ANAE, RV13ANAF, RV13ANAG, RV13AAEA, RV13ANBT, etc...

Steps

1. Enter a condition in transaction VK11 / VK12 / VK13
2. Click on button 'Condition Information'

As a result the following error is shown:

- System error: Report RV13AAEA could not be generated (Message no. VK759)
- Report RV13AAEA has a syntax error (Message no. VK806)

To see which condition table is affected it is necessary to carry out a syntax check in the mentioned report (In this case RV13AAEA).

As you can see the syntax error is caused by the non-existing field KBSTAT in condition table A385.

The problem is usually due to an inconsistency in the access sequence. To get to know which access sequence is assigned to the condition type (8PR0) you need to open transaction V/06.

To see which access of this access sequence uses the condition table A385 you need to open transaction V/07.

The corresponding access (90) contains the field KBSTAT, however this field is not part of the table A385.

This is the root cause of the problem.

Solution

SAP Note 902296describes how such an inconsistency can occur. It provides a source code correction that prevents the system from such an error in the future.

- The incorrect access has to be deleted from the access sequence.
- Then the access sequence has to be saved.
- After these steps you can re enter the previously deleted access with the correct fields.

Make sure you navigate to the field level when entering the new access.

Its a bit urgent issue.We have a policy of considering lost time for extra break in production people, if break is more than 30mins. Break is also not fixed break, Its like any 30mins break permitted between 11-3pm for day shifts, no break in night shift. We maintain break-in/break through P15 & P25 time events in IT2011 and break is configured as mentioned below.

I tried to write the following PCR as per your guidance, but its throwing technical error 57 in time evaluation log saying no rule under key $  KLST*******, Can anyone please help where it went wrong.

Dear Gurus,

I am trying to configure PA40 hiring , I managed to set;

• The action menu fine I am seeing the actions I want in PA40
• Set the info types I need under the info groups 10 (Hiring) fine
• Assign the user group number for menu 10 (hiring)

But when I go to PA40, select hire the first screen that comes up is the Hiring screen click save and
thats it the infogroup are not being executed one after the other.

• I would like to make a change and go directly to action screen (skip first screen).
• Second make the system execute the IT I selected and not just save and go back to PA40
  screen.

We have an appraisal template which has a fixed enhancement for populating VB elements and in turn another fixed enhancement is cascaded into that reference for populating VC elements.

The fixed enhancement for VB has a reference element of type criterion group. Similarly fixed enhancement for VC has a reference of type criteria.

Now what if we need to add two types of VC elements for a single VB element. Can we attached one more reference element for populating VC?

Does it mean it will add two types of VC element of two reference type for a single VB element?

How does multiple reference works?

If multiple reference does not work herein what be the possible soultion.

We want to upgrade our BW-System from 7.00 to 7.31 (we are also using the SEM-AddOn, so we have to upgrade this addon from 600 to 736). During the phase "Execution" in SUM, the error occurred: "Batchjob Enhupgphase aborted". It is not possible to continue the Upgrade, so the whole project is currently interrupted.

In the run ( in XPRASUPG ) occured another error, but we were able to solve this one. Considering note 644610 we created a special RFC-Connection to client 100 and restarted the SUM with option "Accept Non severe errors".

In the attached document can be found some screenshots.

Is there any idea, to solve this issue?

Hello Gurus,   I have a unique situation here and trying to find a solution on this. I tried searching through the existing threads but could find anything relevant.

Here is my scenario:   Price condition = $ 1000 (This condition is controlled through a routine, which makes it statistical for certain scenarios. This also has an account key revenue attached to it) Freight = $90   Price less freight (statistical) = $ 910 (This condition is controlled through a routine, which makes it non-statistical for certain scenarios and has an account key revenue attached to it)

Case 1: Considering that Price less freight is statistical for a certain scenario: The accounting document is correct. However, COPA value fields has ERLOS (Revenue) assigned to both Price condition and Price less freight condition.   Because of this, the COPA revenue value field shows up, $1910, instead of $1000.

Case 2: For certain scenarios even if price condition is statistical, and price less freight becomes non-statistical for certain scenarios: The accounting document is correct.   However, the COPA revenue value field shows up, $1910, instead of $1000.   Is there any user exit we can use, which would ensure that statistical conditions are not considered by COPA?

Would appreciate your help on this or a workaround.

Homogeneous System Copy is a procedure to copy the contents of database from source system to target SAP system. Target SAP system is required to be installed on the same operating system and the same database system as the source SAP system with no patch and version difference. Homogeneous system copy with offline backup of source system is an optimum procedure to perform system copy with minimal downtime.

Why we need System Copy

It is recommended to make a system copy in order to set up a test, demo, training or standby system in enterprise landascape. Upgrade should be performed in a test system first. This will help to identify customer-specific problems which might result from modifications.

Procedure

Use below mentioned procedure to perform Offline Homogeneous System Copy.

1. Usage of “brbackup” command

• Generate Control file using sql alter database query
• alter database backup controlfile to trace;
• As a result of this command, it generates an .trc file under user trace directory under /Oracle/<SSID>/saptrace/usertrace/. Copy the file to another location and rename it to control.sql.
• Remove all the comments from the control file and replace the statement as: CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE “<target SID>” RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
• Replace source SID with target SID, and change the file system locations according to the target system.
• Generate backup files
• brbackup -b -c -d disk -m all -t offline -u system/********
• Backup files will be generated under /Oracle/<SSID>/sapbackup/.

2. Usage of “brrestore” command

• Clear all the files from /Oracle/<subfolders>/
• Copy the backup folder contents in to target systems backup folder.
• Copy the control file generated from source system to the following location in target system. /Oracle/<TSID>/sapreorg/
• Restore from backup       brrestore -c -d disk -m all -u system/********

3. Connect to sql plus, and use the flowing:

• sqlplus /nolog
• connect / as sysdba
• @control.sql
• shutdown
• startup
• alter database open resetlogs
• shutdown
• startup

4. Create r3trans.log using “r3trans -d”

• Path: C:\Documents and Settings\<SID>adm\

5. Create Users

• create user “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\SAPSERVICE<SID>” default tablespace system temporary tablespace psaptemp identified externally;
• Note: Keep all the table and usernames in caps letters:

6. Grant all PRIVILEGES TO BOTH USERS

• Grant all privileges to “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\SAPSERVICE<SID>”;   or
• GRANT SELECT, UPDATE ON SAPUSER TO “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\SAPSERVICE<SID>”;
• SELECT GRANTED_ROLE FROM DBA_ROLE_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE = ‘OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM’;
• SELECT GRANTED_ROLE FROM DBA_ROLE_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE = ‘OPS$<SERVER NAME>\SAPSERVICE<SID>’;

          Eg. grant connect to “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM”;

               grant sapdba to “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM”;

               grant resource to “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM”;

7.  Create database table as follows or refer SAP Note 0000400241

• create table “OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM”.SAPUSER as select * from “OPS$SERVER17\ER1ADM”.SAPUSER;

8. Look Synonym table for “SAPSERVICE<SID>” user

• SELECT OWNER, TABLE_OWNER, TABLE_NAME FROM DBA_SYNONYMS WHERE SYNONYM_NAME=’SAPUSER’;

9. Create Synonym table for “SAPSERVICE<SID>” user

• CREATE SYNONYM “OPS$<SERVERNAME>\SAPSERVICE<SID>”.SAPUSER FOR ” OPS$<SERVER NAME>\<SID>ADM”.SAPUSER;

10. Check for the user account status:

• select username, account_status from dba_users;

11. To Unlock user account

• alter user SAPSR3 account unlock;

12. Check/Verify logon attempt limit

• SELECT LIMIT FROM DBA_PROFILES WHERE PROFILE = ‘DEFAULT’ AND RESOURCE_NAME = ‘FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS’;

13. Change the profile type to unlimited:

• ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS UNLIMITED;

14. Configure SAP ECC

• Apply license in new system created on target system.
• Logon to SAP R/3, go to tcode: se06 and select “Database copy or migration” and execute “Post installation processing”. [Note: Change all the source system objects to target system objects as asked]
• Delete old TMS configuration and make new configuration for TMS via tcode: STMS.

Troubleshooting

Look for ABAP work processes as dev_w0, dev_w1 etc at D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS05\work

Just want to check does anyone using version 9 has this problem? My customer is on version 9 PL 5, when they go to general settings to change 'Price' decimal points from 2 to 3, go to Sales Order or Invoice screen, enter prices with 3 decimal point, screen will auto reflect only 2 decimals and the total is also calculated base on 2 decimal points. The changes doesnt seems to take effect.

Go back to General Settings, the decimal points for Prices is in fact 3. Reboot server as well, but the situation is the same. Any idea? Is it a bug?

Actually (Version 1.4.3.2665) Analysis Office does not support wildcards in variables (input of i.e. * for a selection option variable). Does anybody know, if there are plans to support wildcards? It is the same for Analysis OLAP. We are thinking of replacing BEx Analyzer with Analysis, but for this case the support of wildcards will be essential.

Any hints are welcome.

so once the Grpo is create, either or nor, the Grpo is closed , i need to up date the Mgf serial through DTW

Would somebody mind confirming if they have BADI implementation class CL_IM_SIC_NOTIFY_ILN, which is called from the BADI implementation SIC_NOTIFY_ILN  ?

We've upgraded from BI 3.5 to BI 731 (cont 747) and now we can't edit or add new users via SU01.

The IF_EX_ADDRESS_UPDATE is being called and it's looking for the class CL_IM_SIC_NOTIFY_ILN, which doesn't exist.

I've confirmed that this class doesn't exist in any of the NW7.0 systems or in the original BI 3.5 system.

The object directory entry seems to say that it would have been implemented in 2006, so it was created as part of the upgrade.

I just don't understand why we would have this BADI implementation, without the respective class.
